If you have an Apple ID or an iCloud account, it's a great idea to switch on Two Step Verification to make sure your account is extra secure. Two Step Verification adds an extra layer to logging into your account, in addition to your email and password, you then need the extra code that comes out to your devices. Without this code, no one can access your account.
To switch on Two Step Verification, visit https://appleid.apple.com and log in with your details.

Once you're logged in, you'll see the option to get started with Two-Step Verification.

Before you can switch on the Two Step Verification, you just need to enter the security answers that you set up when you created the account.

You'll now be shown a brief overview of how Two Step Verification works.

When you've switched on Two Step Verification and come to log into your Apple account either on the website or on a new device, you'll be prompted to enter your Two Factor Authentication code.

All your other devices that are signed into the same Apple account will receive a pop up on the screen advising you that someone is trying to access your account.

If it's you logging in, simply click or tap on Allow and you'll be given a 6 digit code to type in.

Once you type this code into your browser or your new device, you'll be signed in. If you click or tap on Don't allow, the code won't be generated and no one will be able to access your account.
Using Two Step Verification can help to keep your accounts secure and provides a safe, easy to use extra layer beyond the usual username and password security.
