Apple replaced iTunes in macOS Catalina with the new Apple Music app. A lot of the functions for music are the same but creating playlists and adding songs is slightly different so we thought it was time to revisit how to make a playlist of your favourite music.
The first step to create a new playlist is to click on the File menu, then New and then select Playlist.

Once you've done that, you can type in the name of your new playlist and add some artwork.

Now that you've created the playlist, you'll see it on the left hand side of the Apple Music window.

You now have two ways to add music to your playlist, you can either drag and drop music from the main Music window onto the playlist or you can right click on a track and add it to your new playlist.

Once you've added a few songs, you can play or shuffle your playlist right from the sidebar in Apple Music.

If you want to remove a song from the playlist, all you need to do is go into the playlist, right click on the song and remove it from the playlist.

If you'd like to be able to listen to your music and playlists when you're away from your Mac, you can use Apple's web based Music app by going to
https://beta.music.apple.com/ and signing in with your Apple ID.
