Occasionally, when you're connected to a strong WiFi signal, you may find that you can't actually call up any web pages or send any emails. There are a few reasons why this can be the case and we'll run through some ideas that can help you get online here.

The WiFi network that you connect to is generated by an access point or a router, this may not necessarily be the same device that's actually providing the Internet connection, so if there's a problem with the Internet connection itself or the device that connects to the Internet, this means you'll still have a full signal, but there won't actually be any Internet behind the signal.

One way that you can check this is to go into the WiFi settings on your device and check that you have an IP address and numbers in the Router and DNS fields. If these are missing, then the Internet probably isn't working.

If you're having this problem at home, then you can try turning your router off for 5 minutes and then turn it back on to see if that helps.

Another reason for a full signal but no Internet could be that you're using a public WiFi hot spot, such as in a coffee shop or hotel. Once you're connected to the WiFi you'll usually need to bring up a web page to register your device or agree to some terms and conditions before you can access the Internet normally.
All you should need to do is open your web browser and try to navigate to a web page and you should be redirected to the correct site.
Once you've registered with the site, you can start browsing and emailing as normal. If you've registered your device but you still can't get online or can't get the registration website to appear, then you may need to ask whoever's providing the hot spot for advice on how you can get online.
